My Blogging Experience
February 26, 2008
I’ve been blogging a while ago, signed in wordpress.com and start customizing it on December 22, 2007. I call myself a newbie
Yeah, I know very a litle about blogging and I’m still learning how to write about things.
The first time I tried to write, I got stumbled with idea. Honestly, I don’t know what to write here. Some post of friends said that I had to write whatever in my head. “Just be confidence, your mind will flow and work by itself,” they said. I followed their advices, real tough at first. And still tough in second try
BTW, I posted some Indonesian writing in http://samsulhadi.com and trying to find my writing style. So far, it’s so nice being online. I’ll give it another shot to write some good stuff!
Telkomnet Instant Called Me
February 25, 2008
In ancient times, I used telkomnet@instant dial up connection to connect to the internet. Dial up connections was the only internet connection I used in 1996 until I began using wireless connection couple of years lately. Telkomnet Instant is a PT Telkom product, serving Indonesian Telkom home (line) phone subscribers by dialing 080989999. There was also Wasantara Net, which was provided by PT Pos dan Giro, but I think it is not available anymore.
As other communication price in Indonesia, Telkomnet Instant’s price was also high compared with another country. The quality of the connection’s also poor. I had to reconnect the connection several times as it disconnected because of transmission error. The connection speed’s much worst, I had to pause a 5MB file download and resume it another day because it didn’t finish in 1 hour. I had to stand with that because it was the only internet connection in my town.
Now, the Telkom monopoly is fading. There are another ISPs around, like Netsol, RouteLink in town. So I changed ISP, for sure. I choose Netsol for it’s price, quality, and service. I got pretty good internet connection, with unlimited bandwidth, which is the first criteria when I picked Netsol from list. My PC now connect hapily to the internet like never before.
As I changed ISP, my phone bill’s now decreased. I don’t have to waste some of my money for Telkom. That makes PT Telkom think, i think. Because I got 2 phone calls this month, from PT Telkom asking if I was interested in using Telkomnet Instant again. My answer: I got a better internet connection, why do I have to choose for a worse one???
